Now Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell has weighed in on the feud and says there was one specific 'last straw' for William that will prevent him from repairing the relationship.
The I'm A Celebrity star told the Mirror: “The trouble is once things are said they can't be taken back and people have been hurt.”
“I think William, is hurt because his wife has been criticised when she is above that, she's never put a foot wrong,” Burrell explains.
Prior to Harry and Meghan's 2018 royal wedding, reports emerged that the former actress made Kate cry over a spat about bridesmaids dresses. However, in the Sussexes' controversial Oprah Winfrey interview Meghan claimed that Kate in fact made her cry and later sent flowers to apologise.
The former royal butler said that the “tittle tattle” over the bridesmaids dresses felt like a “betrayal” and was the “last straw” for William, who could have forgiven Harry for his other accusations.
