Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's antics over the past few years have resulted in a "lot of trouble being stored up" for their children, according to a royal author.
The expert's warning comes more than three years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shocked the world with their life changing decision to step down as working royals and relocate to America.
At the time, their dramatic exit from 'the Firm' raised questions about what Harry and Meghan's relationship with the monarchy would look like going forward, the Express reports.
However, 'Megxit' has also had caused massive implications for their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, which will become more of a problem for them as they got older, according to Tom Quinn, author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family.
He explained: "They [Archie and Lilibet] may look across the Atlantic and think, 'why have our parents done this to us? It would have been much better if we'd been in England.'"
Quinn believes that as Archie and Lilibet grow up, they will question why they were robbed of the "glamorous" lifestyle that 'the Firm' would have secured for them.
He added: "A lot of trouble is being stored up by Harry and Meghan because of what they've done."
Despite being thousands of miles away from their royal relatives across the Atlantic, Archie and Lilibet will always be associated with the royal family as they are the King's grandchildren.
Quinn continued: "Harry tried to escape and is trying to make sure his children escape. But you can never fully escape. It's just too difficult".
The royal expert also believes that the prince and princess will find themselves at odds with the American way of life.
