Prince William travelled to New York for his first official solo visit to the US this week to unveil the 15 finalists for the third annual Earthshot Prize.
The awards ceremony will take place in Singapore later this year on November 7 where the Prince of Wales will announce the winners, OK! reports.
The heir was recently crowned the most popular public figure in the US, beating the likes of Ukraine's much loved president Zelensky along with former US President Donald Trump and his own father, King Charles.
His ambitious goal to save the planet with the Earthshot Prize, which he founded in 2020, has been heralded as one of his greatest achievements to date, with former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond saying that his effort make him the "shining star" of the monarchy.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, Jennie says: "Hot on the heels of Harry's successful Invictus Games, we have William’s ambitious baby, the Earthshot Prize. I think it’s brilliant that both men have created something to be truly proud of.
"William certainly has a powerful line up of supporters and sponsors. We saw him looking the statesman in New York during a meeting with the UN Secretary General, along with highly influential business people and politicians.
"He was very much on the global stage and involved in the most ambitious project imaginable: how to save the planet."
Confessing her surprise about William being named as the most popular public figure in the US, Jennie says: "I must admit, I was surprised that he had been voted the most popular figure in the US, simply because I thought they were more driven by celebrity.
"On the other hand, in my experience, Americans love our royal family, and William is becoming the shining star of the monarchy,
