The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have "contacted" the Prince and Princess of Wales "privately" after the news of Kate's cancer diagnosis was shared on Friday, 22 March.
The news comes after Kate released a video where she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had begun chemotherapy treatment. Her heartbreaking diagnosis came after she underwent abdominal surgery.
The future Queen bravely shared her diagnosis in a video message shared online and on the news, following months of speculation surrounding the Princess' health and whereabouts.
Kate, 42, announced in January that she had undergone surgery on her abdomen and at the time said she was not being treated for cancer. In a video addressing her surgery, Kate said: "At the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous.
The surgery was successful.
However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment." And now it has been revealed by ITV's Royal editor Chris Ship, that the Duke of Sussex, who lives in Montecito, California with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, "has reached out to his brother".
Mr Ship took to Twitter to share: "Prince Harry has reached out to his brother, Prince William after learning of Kate's cancer. Harry and Meghan have both been in touch with their brother/sister-in-law but did so privately.
It not clear if that was a phone/video call or some messages of support." Last night, the Sussexes released a statement about their sister-in-law's cancer diagnosis. Meghan and Harry, who are thought to have found out about Kate's cancer
