The Royal Family made a grand return to the public eye last week with a united front at the Trooping the Colour. Just two days later, they regrouped for the annual Order of the Garter procession at Windsor Castle.
Both events are deeply rooted in history and hold significant importance in the Royal calendar. However, one family member was noticeably absent from both occasions.
The Order of the Garter, founded in 1348 by King Edward III, is Britain's oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry. King Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince William are all members, as is Prince Andrew, who has been a Knight of the Garter since 2006.
However, he was conspicuously missing from Monday's procession. Andrew last attended the Garter Day service in 2019.
The event was cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, and in 2022, Prince Andrew was absent from the public-facing procession, although he did attend the investiture and the lunch, according to the Mirror, reports OK!.
Reports suggest that his exclusion from the procession came after intervention from his brother Charles and nephew William, who both strongly objected to his presence.
Andrew stepped back from his duties as a working member of the Royal family in 2020 following his ill-fated BBC Newsnight interview where he discussed his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In January 2022, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew's military titles and Royal patronages had been returned to the late Queen.

There are reports of tensions rising once again between Prince Andrew and King Charles over the Duke of York's deteriorating residence, Royal Lodge. King Charles is said to be pressuring his younger brother to vacate his 30-room Windsor mansion in favour of the more modest Frogmore Cottage, previously the UK home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke of York, 64, is believed to have a lengthy lease on the Royal Lodge.
Prince Harry is planning to jet back to the UK as part of a bold move to reconcile with the Royal Family, an insider has claimed. The Duke of Sussex wasn't invited to this year's Trooping the Colour, missed an opportunity to see King Charles during his recent visit in May, and was left off the guest list for the Duke of Westminster's nuptials. And, having watched from the US as sister-in-law Kate Middleton made her long-awaited royal return for the King's birthday, Harry is now reportedly planning to take action.
Prince Harry is reportedly planning a trip to the UK in an attempt to mend fences with the Royal Family, according to a source. This comes after a series of perceived slights towards the Duke of Sussex, including missing out on an invitation to this month's Trooping the Colour, not meeting King Charles during his May visit, and being left off the guest list for the Duke of Westminster's wedding.

Prince William and Prince Harry may be in line for the throne, but there's one thing they'll never inherit - their mother Princess Diana's childhood home. The Althorp Estate, which has been in the Spencer family since 1508, will instead go to their cousin Louis, son of Earl Spencer, Diana's brother Charles. Despite having three older sisters, 30-year-old Viscount Althorp, Louis, will inherit the estate due to the aristocracy's system of primogeniture, where titles are passed down to the oldest boy, not the firstborn child. The sprawling 13,500-acre estate is where Diana spent her childhood and was laid to rest after her tragic death in 1997.
