A pregnant mum died alongside her baby at a Spanish clinic. Kelsey Brown, 34, began suffering "horrendous pain" and lost consciousness shortly after going into labour at Hospital Ceram in Marbella.
The hairdresser had registered as a patient at the private facility when she moved to Spain from Liverpool in December 2020. The hairdresser was expecting her second baby and paid for the private clinic "to ensure the best treatment for her and her unborn child", the Liverpool ECHO reports.
Her family believed her pregnancy was going well - but when Kelsey went into labour on July 20, 2021, a heart monitor was unable to detect the baby's heartbeat. At 1.30pm, Kelsey began losing blood and was in "horrendous pain", an inquest heard.

At her inquest today (Monday), coroner Andre Rebello said a Spanish investigation into the mum's death was still ongoing.
He said: "On July 20 2021 Kelsey went into labour and was taken to the clinic. A heart monitor couldn't detect a heartbeat for the baby and Kelsey was advised she couldn't have a caesarean or epidural and she would have to give birth naturally.
"At 1.30pm, Kelsey began bleeding. Her partner and sister were at the scene and they said Kelsey was in horrendous pain. She was bleeding profusely... Kelsey was given injections continuously through the birth which caused her
