Three men have been jailed for the ‘savage and senseless crime’ which left a teenager killed after being attacked at a petrol station.
Pavandeep Daudher died after being knifed in the leg when he was attacked by a gang of five men, armed with baseball bats and blades on March 31, 2020 in a BP garage.
The 19-year-old’s femoral artery and vein had been punctured so badly by the violent and lethal assault that he bled to death, whilst his attackers drove off in a stolen Ford Kuga.
Three of the gang Jason Cornwall, Riley Kavanagh and Kane McCarron were sentenced to prison this week having been found guilty of the manslaughter of Pavandeep.
Cornwall, Kavanagh and McCarron were convicted of manslaughter following a trial last year, as was Ethan Lilley.
Handing down the sentences to the first three at Judge Sylvia de Bertodano described Pavandeep’s killing as a “savage and senseless crime”.
She said the four defendants, and a fifth man, “went looking for Zac Challenor” - a friend of Pavandeep’s - as they believed he was involved in an incident the night before where a window was smashed at Lilley’s home in Cheylesmore, Coventry.
“He (Zac Challenor) was driving in Coventry with his girlfriend and his friend Pavandeep Daudher. They stopped at the BP garage in Lockhurst Lane, Foleshill, to get oil and the clean out the car,” the judge told them.
“It was there that you found them and when you did you got out of your car armed with baseball bats and at least one knife.
“You set upon them. Pavandeep Daudher was fatally stabbed and you left him bleeding to death while you returned to the car to pursue Zac Challenor.”
Mr Challenor was pursued to a nearby street by the group where his car was blocked in and he was stabbed in the foot
