Peter Leven setting no Aberdeen FC dugout deadline as he admits unfamiliar side of top job

Peter Leven says he is more than happy to take on the Aberdeen job until the end of the season if a new man isn’t appointed.
The Pittodrie club have been searching for a permanent replacement for Barry Robson since the end of January, with first-team coach Leven stepping up to the hot seat in the last three matches following Neil Warnock’s surprise exit last month. And the 40-year-old, who has led Dons to consecutive Premiership victories for only the third time this season, insists he will remain in the dugout for as long as the club need him.
Leven said: “I’m happy to take charge for as long as they need me. If they come and tell me the guy they want, they can’t get until the summer then I’m available for as long as required. I’m enjoying it, it’s good. The players have been great and the training has been great. I enjoy coaching, I like being out there with the players and I have seen a different side to it dealing with the media and stuff, but it has been enjoyable.
“I was asked at the start of the week if I’d take the Livi game and that’s no problem for me. It’s just game by game, the club are still doing the process and I don’t know what that involves.”
The Reds face a Livingston side this afternoon that are currently 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table. But former Kilmarnock assistant Leven has called on his players to rise above the physical challenge posed by the Lions. He added: “It’ll be a tough game because they’re fighting for their lives, so we have to go there looking to play our own game. We can’t get sucked into the way they want to play, the physicality and stuff.
