Harry Styles' Love On Tour setlist 2022 in full: What will Harry sing at arena and stadium shows across Canada and USA, what time is he on stage and who are the support act?

While it's nothing new, and we're certainly not complaining, Harry Styles' name is inescapable right now. Not content with scoring ten weeks atop the Official Singles Chart with As It Was, claiming the year's first Official Charts Double as Harry's House simultaneously nabbed Number 1, making moves in the beauty business with Pleasing and starring in upcoming movie Don't Worry Darling with girlfriend Olivia Wilde (that TRAILER, though), the One Direction star's now preparing to treat fans across Canada and the USA to Love On Tour.

Brexit is “strangling the next generation of UK talent in the cradle” in returning summer of touring

NME about how the first summer of post-pandemic touring has shown that the complications of Brexit are “strangling the next generation of UK talent in the cradle”.Last year, the UK music industry spoke out together on how they had essentially been handed a “No Deal Brexit” when the government failed to negotiate visa-free travel and Europe-wide work permits for musicians and crew. As a result, artists attempting to hit the road again after COVID found themselves on the predicted “rocky road” for the first summer of European touring after Britain left the EU.As major touring across the continent returned after a two-year break due to the COVID pandemic, the spring saw artists, managers, and more tell us of how the “nightmare” of new red tape saw artists suffering due to “Brexit fuck-ups and a lack of government control” – with White Lies making headlines as one of the major acts forced to cancel dates in Europe due to their equipment being held up.Last month, a study by Best For Britain – a group “pushing for closer relationships with Europe and the world” – showed that the number of British artists scheduled to perform in Europe as part of this year’s festival season had fallen by 45 per cent when compared to 2017-2019 (pre-Brexit).Best For Britain CEO Naomi Smith told NME that the government needed to act now in order to open the pipeline of new UK talent to develop by being allowed to afford to tour in Europe.“Arguably, music is Britain’s most famous export, so it’s just insanity that the government is refusing to improve the Brexit deal for UK musicians and are strangling that next generation of talent in the cradle,” said Smith.

Wolf Alice’s Joff Oddie on post-Brexit touring: “We could lose this world-leading position if we don’t act now”

Wolf Alice guitarist Joff Oddie has written an op-ed for NME regarding the ongoing problems for UK artists wishing to tour Europe post-Brexit, arguing that action is needed now for Britain to retain it’s “world-leading position” in music.Last year, the UK music industry spoke out together on how they had essentially been handed a “No Deal Brexit” when the government failed to negotiate visa-free travel and Europe-wide work permits for musicians and crew. As a result, artists attempting to hit the road again after COVID found themselves on the predicted “rocky road” for the first summer of European touring after Britain left the EU.Last month, a study by Best For Britain – a group “pushing for closer relationships with Europe and the world” – showed that the number of British artists scheduled to perform in Europe as part of this year’s festival season had fallen by 45 per cent when compared to 2017-2019 (pre-Brexit).Today, NME published news of the industry insiders claiming that the first summer of touring post-pandemic proves that the ongoing situation is “strangling the next generation of UK talent in the cradle”, Wolf Alice’s Joff Oddie has written of the true scale of the problem and why the government should act on the recent report from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Music.“Live music really matters.

‘The X Factor’ releases extended cut of Harry Styles’ original audition

The X Factor has released an extended cut of Harry Styles’ original auction for the talent show.A week after The X Factor expanded on how the show put together boy band One Direction, it’s now shared the original, extended cut of Styles’ addition as a solo artist prior to being put into the group. While it was Styles’ a capella rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ that was aired on television in 2010, Styles first performed a Train song, ‘Hey Soul Sister’, for the judges. In the clip, which you can watch below, Simon Cowell can be seen stopping Styles’ performance mid-song and asking him to sing without a backing track.“I don’t know whether it’s the track that’s throwing you, but can I hear something just you, without any music?” Cowell said.Styles then performed ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ before being put through to the next round of the competition – check out the moment here:The previously unseen footage also includes some talk about Styles’ former weekend bakery job and how his “mum’s always” told him he was a good singer.“I think I could do it, but I think with your help I could be a lot better than I am,” Styles said.In other news, during the last date of his European ‘Love On Tour’ run, Styles brought out Wolf Alice frontwoman Ellie Rowsell to duet on a cover of the opening band’s own song, ‘No Hard Feelings’.Wolf Alice opened for Styles on all 17 dates of the Euro trek, which wrapped up last night (July 31) in Lisbon, Portugal.

FAC renews call on PRS Foundation funding as petition passes 1000 signatures

The Featured Artists Coalition’s petition calling on UK collecting society PRS to reconsider its decision to cut the funding it provides the PRS Foundation has now past a 1000 signatures, with artists like Sam Fender, Anna Calvi and Wolf Alice’s Joff Oddie backing the FAC’s campaign.PRS confirmed at its AGM in May that the funding it provides to the talent development charity it set up in 2000 will be cut from the current £2.5 million a year to £1 million a year from 2024. That’s because the specific income stream the funding comes from – basically interest earned on investments and royalties awaiting distribution – has been in decline in recent years. However, many artist and songwriter groups have called on the society to top up its annual donation to the Foundation from other funds.

Frank Turner to headline London venue Nambucca’s “final party” tonight

Frank Turner is set to headline tonight’s sold-out “final party” (May 13) at London’s much-loved Nambucca venue. The 300-capacity north London venue, which has played host to early gigs by the likes of The Libertines, Florence + The Machine and Wolf Alice, is set to close its doors for good after this weekend, despite “trying everything we can to keep Nambucca going” following the COVID-19-enforced shutdown of live music.Speaking to NME this week about its closure, Nambucca’s general manager Giles Horne said: “It would be great if venues could be owned by venues and run as venues, and less tied to beer sales, which make things even less profitable. I just hope that someone buys Nambucca and continues to keep it as a venue.”Turner will headline Nambucca’s sold-out “final party” tonight, with ticket sales going towards “helping out Giles and his team at the venue initially” before “any excess will go to the Music Venue Trust to help them in their fight to stop this happening to any more places around the country”.Writing in a post on his social media channels yesterday (May 12), Turner recalled his fond memories of his “spiritual home”.“The venue has seen ups and downs, fires, rebuilding, parties, gigs, legends, newcomers, everything under the sun, in the last 20 years,” Turner wrote about Nambucca.
