Pep Guardiola has hailed Kevin de Bruyne as an "incredible talent" after the midfielder marked seven years at the club.
Guardiola has heaped praise on the Belgian midfielder during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Nottingham Forest game on Wednesday night. De Bruyne has been in scintillating form so far this season, having already scored a goal and provided three assists in City's opening four Premier League games.
The midfielder has won every available domestic honour in England, while also enjoying individual success as shown by winning the PFA Player’s Player of the year award on two separate occasions.

When asked about the midfielder, Guardiola said: "It was a really good signing for City. Seven years is many, many years, he has done brilliant since then. Before here, he was in Germany, I saw him when he was in Wolfsburg when I was at Bayern. I am delighted with how he has performed in this time."
Although the City manager was a fan of De Bruyne before he joined City, Merson's comments on the transfer back in 2015 show that he clearly did not hold the Belgian in the same regard. The Sky Sports pundit had the following to say when he was asked by Jeff Stelling if Jose Mourinho made a mistake by selling De Bruyne for £18 million as he left Chelsea for Wolfsburg.
Merson replied: "I don’t think he got loads of chances, but he didn’t look part of the Chelsea way at the time. I think it was right for him to go. If you’re buying someone for eight million and selling him for a £10 million profit, it’s a no-brainer for me.
"There are some players you look at and think 'yeah… I just don’t see this, I just don’t see £50-odd million for this
