dads. The former royal butler, 64, who completed his cancer radiotherapy treatment earlier this month, will be joining the likes of Carol Vorderman, Phil Tufnell and Shaun Ryder for a special edition of I’m A Celebrity which was recorded in South Africa in 2022. The father-of-two came out as gay in 2017 after splitting from his wife of 32 years in 2016.
He’s now married to Graham Cooper, a cooperate lawyer he met back in 2007. Ahead of the launch of I’m A Celeb All Stars next week, Burrell said he wants to be there for ‘all the dads who are struggling with their sexuality’ after previously competing on the 2004 series. ‘It is going to be different because I am a different person now,’ he said.
‘I was a married guy with two kids and now 19 years on, I am a married man again but this time around, I have a husband. ’Burrell was Bushhtucker trial gold during his first time on I’m A Celeb, and almost 20 years later he confirmed the same phobias including ‘deep water’ still haunt him now. ‘It would be ridiculous to think I could win this,’ he added.
‘I am only here to have a good time, to entertain people and to make everyone laugh. ’Burrell recently shared how ITV’s medical checks to appear on the show alerted him to his prostate cancer and subsequently ‘saved his life’. ‘I went to the medical where they found a raised PSA,’ he explained on Lorraine.
