South Africa, sees a number of previous campmates return to the show and was pre-recorded during September 2022, meaning that it will take a slightly different format to usual. As the show kicked off on Monday (24 April) fans took to Twitter to share their upset at the change, with one writing: "Why is #ImACeleb pre-recorded? i'm confused? The public like getting involved, voting for people to do challenges etc." "Really can't see the point of this #imaceleb in South Africa if it's all pre-recorded, no voting," added another.
And a third wrote: "Gutted we don’t get to vote for trials I have a feeling who would win that vote #ImACeleb", while a fourth said: "What is the point of #ImACeleb if it’s not live and you can’t vote the weakest links to do the trials, pray tell." However, some viewers shared that they weren't against the change, with one arguing: "Kind of prefer it not being live because it means the Great British Public won’t be voting the same wimp to do trials every single night."
