Outlander fans are anxious to have the show back on the air, but it seems it’s going to be without Fergus and Marsali Fraser.
The characters, played by Cesar Domboy and Lauren Lyle, were softly written out of the show for the time being in season 6.
It was revealed at the time that the couple, who lived with Fergus’ adoptive parents Jamie and Claire Fraser, moved to New Bern where he had taken up a print press.
But will they return for future episodes?

Turns out, it’s a no – at least for the back half of season 7.
Executive producer Marli Davis revealed that fans will not see the couple in the remaining episodes.
“You know, Lauren was busy with a couple of other things as was Cesar, so you know that was purposely in talking with those actors and where we decided to take this season, we don’t see their stories unfortunately,” she told Express.
Lauren also spoke with Digital Spy about a possible return to the show, hopefully in the eighth and final season.
“I feel like I’ve grown up on the show a little bit and I deeply love everyone on it, and I love the production, and I love our little family of four children that we have at the age of like twenty-something, and how we just pop them out seamlessly, and it’s just wonderful,” she shared. “I love César and I think he feels the same way. We both feel very connected to our characters, and especially with the fans. It feels like we’ve grown up with these fans.”
She does say that she would “absolutely” return for season eight, if asked.
