Suits is on its way to breaking another Nielsen streaming record.
The USA Network series marked another week atop the Nielsen streaming charts for the week of August 28 to September 3. With nearly 2.5B minutes viewed (down slightly from the week prior), the series tied with Ozark for the record for most No. 1 overall finishes ever on the overall Nielsen chart.
It’s worth noting that Suits achieved this in 11 consecutive weeks while Ozark achieved such a feat over all of its seasons. If Suits maintains its position for one more week, it will officially surpass Ozark for the title.
Meanwhile, Netflix also has something to celebrate with the release of its live-action manga adaptation One Piece during this interval. The eight episode series came in at No. 2 on the overall chart and No. 1 among originals with 1.3B minutes viewed. This is certainly a win for Netflix, which leaned heavily into the launch campaign for this series. Within two weeks, One Piece was already renewed for a second season.
Netflix once again dominated the overall list, also claiming a spot for Who is Erin Carter? at over 1B minutes, as well as You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
Disney+ maintained its spot for Bluey, naturally. But, on the streaming originals side of things, Ahsoka didn’t manage to move the needle much. In fact, viewing was cut in half in its second week with just over 400M viewing minutes, pushing the series down to No. 5 on the list. However, it makes sense that viewership might have deflated, since only one episode was released this week as opposed to the two released in its first week. Still, that’s not an entirely positive sign, considering it indicates that the audience for the series is plateauing early.
