As teased, the Mountain Goats have released a new album via Merge. This one’s called Songs for Pierre Chuvin. According to a press release, it’s the first time since 2002’s All Hail West Texas that John Darnielle has recorded an album entirely on his boombox. Joan Shelley has released a new live album, recorded in Louisville, Kentucky in December.
