Every Thursday, we here at Official Charts round up the biggest New Releases coming your way across music and home entertainment.
Our first stop for albums this week is Maisie Peters's sophomore record The Good Witch; a commanding and exhilarating pop album about the precise moment in your early 20s when you feel like either all of your dreams come true or everything will fall to pieces. Lead by Maisie's ever-expanding pop sensibilities, we roll from intelligent folk-pop (Body Better), shimmering 80s synths (Lost The Breakup) and piercing New Wave (Watch, Run) without ever losing our footing. Following on from her impressive 2021 debut, You Signed Up For This (John Hughes Movie stans stand up!!) The Good Witch makes good on the promise that Maisie is probably one day going to be the biggest pop star in the country, and a stepping stone on the way to true superstardom. We have an exclusive, in-depth chat with Maisie dropping 8am GMT tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.
Next, Unholy priestess Kim Petras, after several false starts and an already-abandoned era presents Feed The Beast, her first, proper debut album under a major label. Containing her recent UK Top 40 entry Alone with Nicki Minaj, several songs from her scrapped Problematique era are given a new sheen (Hit It From The Back), while the new material explores German house and rave (Uh Oh, Castle In The Sky).
Salting the earth so nothing good can grow again, Kelly Clarkson's divorce album is here! Kelly joins forces with her trusted collaborator Jesse Shatkin (Sia) to give you a searing portrayal of the her marriage's breakdown, while never losing the chance for a sky-rocket chorus, of course.
Other new albums this week come from rising US starlet Coi Leray (Coi),
