Each week, we here at Official Charts compile the best and most exciting releases of New Music Friday, to give you a chance to hear the future hits on the Official Singles and Albums Chart. Let's dive in!
We have some massive albums arriving this week; chief among them is Charli XCX's fifth record Crash. Promoted as the final album under her current contract and her most commercial-leaning project since 2014's bratty Sucker, Crash is a all-killer, no-filler joyride of a pop record, proving that Charli's finger remains firmly on the pulse.
Latin icon Rosalia may also be a superstar around the world, but she hasn't quite cracked the UK...yet. That could all change with her super-charged third album Motomami, released today after months of build-up (side-note: a lot of mechanical-themed releases this week, did every pop star watch Titane last year?). A thrilling record that stretches across reggaeton, flamenco and rap, it's an eclectic and dizzying display of artistry.
Brighton's own ArrDee may feel Pier Pressure, but it certainly doesn't show on his debut mixtape; a confident and self-assured body of work that's as braggadocios as we'll allow for an act that has so far racked up five Top 40 hits in less than a year.
Singles-wise this week; abcdefu hitmaker Gayle hit Number 1 at the start of the year and she releases her debut EP A Study Of The Human Experience Volume One. Our favourite pick from it is Sleeping With My Friends, which manages to bridge the gap between Katy Perry and Olivia Rodrigo. Elsewhere, Joel Corry & David Guetta team up (again) for What Would You Do? which features a surprising turn from rapper Bryson Tiller on vocal duties, while Mabel kickstarts her second album campaign with a much-needed booster
