Heartstopper is returning for a second season, and we officially know when!
The first season of the Netflix series debuted in 2022 to rave reviews. It featured a star-studded cast centered around Kit Connor and Joe Locke.
On Monday (April 24), the streaming platform revealed the release date for the second season and teased what fans should expect.

The second season of Heartstopper premieres on August 3, 2023 and features eight new episodes. Both Kit and Joe are returning alongside the likes of Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Sebastian Croft, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood, Jenny Walser, Cormac Hyde-Corrin and Olivia Colman.
What can fans expect to see when the show returns? Nick (Connor) and Charlie (Locke) are getting settled into their relationship after making it official at the end of the first season. Tara (Brown) and Darcy (Edgell) are said to face some surprises in their romance while Tao (Gao) and Elle (Finney) are determining if they’ll be taking the next step in their friendship.
There’s also prom and a trip to Paris!
The cast got together to share a behind the scenes glimpse at what is coming in a teaser video.
“Charlie goes on more of a journey this season. His story’s a bit more mature,” Joe hinted. Yasmin also alluded to a more confident Elle who has found her people.
The new season of Heartstopper features a mix of returning and new stars on the cast.
