House of the Dragon” ranked at No. 6 on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 chart during the Aug. 22-28 viewing window. That time period was the first full week of availability for the first episode of the “Game of Thrones” prequel on HBO Max, but also included a small portion of the streaming viewership for Episode 2, which debuted on HBO Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. ET. Together, the first two episodes of “House of the Dragon” garnered 741 million minutes viewed that week, more than doubling the prior week’s Nielsen streaming numbers, which only counted up viewership for the first few hours that the “House of the Dragon” premiere was available on HBO Max. (Nielsen cuts off its count for the SVOD weekly rankings on Sunday evenings). But in just that short measurement of time, the series quickly raked in 327 million minutes watched on the streaming service.

The search is currently on for a showrunner. According to sources, deals for the series are not yet closed and discussions are ongoing. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps but it is known that Page will play Cassidy while Powell will play The Sundance Kid. Both actors will also serve as executive producers on the show in addition to starring. Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes of AGBO will also executive.

Angelique Jackson Netflix’s restructuring continues with the impending departure of one of the streamer’s top film executives, Tendo Nagenda. The veteran executive, who joined Netflix from Disney in 2018, shepherded such movies as “The Harder They Fall,” “Da 5 Bloods” and the upcoming “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” for the streamer. Variety can confirm that Nagenda’s last day in his role will be Sept. 1. “Tendo joined the company four years ago and helped to build out our studio film team, who delivered movies such as ‘The Harder They Fall,’ ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,’ ‘The Old Guard,’ ‘Da 5 Bloods’ and ‘Hustle,'” Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global films, said in a statement. “He was integral in our evolution from acquiring and licensing films to making movies ourselves. We wish him all the best for the future.”
