Carrot Top says he was on the same plane as woman who went on tirade about 'not real' passenger

Carrot Top says he was on the same American Airlines plane as a woman who caused a flight delay after she went on a tirade about wanting to get off a plane because of a "not real" passenger.  "Some woman lost her marbles," the comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, said in one of three Instagram videos he posted about the now-viral incident, explaining he and the other passengers had been forced to deplane the Dallas to Orlando, Florida, flight before it took off.  Thompson said the unidentified woman was "screaming at the top of her lungs like, ‘F--- this, f--- this! You guys are doomed! Get me off this f---ing plane!’ So, we’re off the plane. She got her wish."  He added that the passengers had to wait at the gate while officials swept "the plane to see if there’s anything."  "I was going to see the fireworks in Orlando just in time but now this f---ing lunatic lady lost her mind, so we’re going nowhere," he said.  He added in the caption, "Omg! I’ve seen this stuff on tv but NEVER experienced it!!! We all are now f---ed because this lady lost her marbles… stay tuned! Hope we takeoff." In a second video, the 58-year-old comedian showed a clip of the woman’s viral tirade in which she yelled while standing in the aisle of the plane: "I’m telling you, I’m getting the f--- off and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f--- off and everyone can either believe it or they cannot believe it."  She continued: "I don’t give two f---s, but I am telling you right now – that motherf---er back there is not real," she added, gesturing to the back of the plane.

Axed Boba Fett Movie Was a ‘Borderline R-Rated’ Spaghetti Western That ‘Probably Scared the S— Out of Everyone,’ Says James Mangold

Zack Sharf Digital News Director James Mangold is moving on to direct a “Star Wars” tentpole following “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” but it’s not his first go-around with the Lucasfilm franchise. Back in 2018, news broke that Mangold had been hired to direct a movie about the bounty hunter Boba Fett. He was also set to co-write the project with Simon Kinberg, best known as a writer and producer on the “X-Men” movies. Mangold’s Boba Fett movie never got off the ground, and he recently said on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that it wasn’t too surprising given the overall tone of the project. “At the point I was doing it I was probably scaring the shit out of everyone,” Mangold said. “I was making much more of a borderline R-rated, single planet spaghetti Western. They probably would never be able to embrace Baby Yoda if I had made that. It didn’t really belong in the world I was kind of envisioning.”

Ted Sarandos Calls Korean Content ‘Surprising and Unpredictable’ as Netflix Prepares to Double Investment in Shows, Industry Development

Rebecca Souw There’s more to Korean TV than a greenlit second season of “Squid Game” and Ted Sarandos, Netflix co-CEO, shed new light on what’s making the “Korean wave” worthy of large-scale commitment. After meeting with leading helmer Park Chan-wook (“Oldboy” and upcoming series “War and Revolt”) and 100 film students a day earlier, Sarandos on Wednesday held a public forum at Seoul’s Four Seasons Hotel on the future of Korean content. The abundant glad-handing follows a public commitment made in April to spend $2.5 billion on original Korean content over the next four years. “[Korean content] is very often unpredictable and catches the American audience by surprise,” said Sarandos at the event. “I think what’s brilliant is to see film, unscripted and series all grow according to the interests of our Korean audience.”

Sweet Tartt: How ‘Ted Lasso’ Star Phil Dunster Became the Final Season’s MVP

This story about Phil Dunster and “Ted Lasso” first appeared in the Comedy Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.Ask “Ted Lasso” fans to name their favorite storyline of the surprisingly super-sized Season 3 and you’ll likely get a unanimous answer: the burgeoning bromance between Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster). The relationship would have been unimaginable in Season 1, when the two alpha males openly despised each other. But the bad blood was wiped clean by Jamie’s transformation from AFC Richmond bad boy to team sweetheart.“I made a petition that I signed 25,000 times myself and gave it to the writers every day so that they would start writing Roy and Jamie scenes, because it was sort of my raison d’etre for a while,” Dunster said, smiling.

Jeff Bridges Says ‘People Can See Themselves’ in FX Spy Thriller ‘The Old Man’

Bob Verini Here’s a thought experiment. Imagine Jack Ryan or Jason Bourne as a cranky, retired septuagenarian, body all achin’ and racked with pain after a lifetime of dangerous missions. Now imagine he gets the call that he’s got to get back in the game, or else risk the lives of himself and everyone he loves. This is the intriguing, often heart-stopping premise of “The Old Man,” which examines the art of espionage in our post-Cold War world and its impact on those who conduct it. Based on a novel by thriller master Thomas Perry, the seven-part first season of the FX series leaps back and forth in time, from the Soviet Union’s war on Afghanistan in the 1980s to the deadly legacy of that conflict in the present day.

‘Romeo and Juliet’ Review: ‘Ted Lasso’ Star Toheeb Jimoh Is the Expressive Heart of Rebecca Frecknall’s Passionate Production

David Benedict Having the audacity to harness stabs and slashes of Prokofiev’s celebrated ballet score for “Romeo and Juliet” for a production of Shakespeare’s play suggests remarkable confidence on the part of white-hot director Rebecca Frecknall. It’s not misplaced. Her startlingly visceral production, with a cast led by Toheeb Jimoh of “Ted Lasso,” is not only lit up by the power of bodies leaping in space and dramatically alert even when in repose; it’s also alive to the detailed drama of Shakespeare’s language. The intensity she engenders in her actors is sometimes ramped-up too highly and everything boils over, but at its finest, the fiercely articulate passion is electrifying. The fact that the rulebook is being rewritten is made plain from the get-go. The famous opening address about “two houses alike in dignity” is not spoken: The text is lit up on the wall covering the entire front of the stage. Beneath Gareth Fry’s low growl of a soundscape, the company gathers one by one to claw against it before sending it crashing to the ground. But this is not just a shock tactic. Frecknall is illuminating the line about “taking the wall of any man” and using physical energy to punch into a vigorously staged fight between the warring Montagues and Capulets.
