Ava DuVernay’s Wings of Fire, an animated series adaptation of the family fantasy books which had been in development at Netflix since 2021, is the latest victim of animation cuts at the streamer, sources close to the project confirm to Deadline. We hear several other projects are not moving forward as well.

Netflix has announced soap legend Danny Dyer will be joining them as the host of a brand new quiz show, following his exit from EastEnders.The 44 year old actor confirmed he would be leaving Albert Square earlier this year, after joining the soap back in 2013. Mick Carter, who Danny has played for nine years, has become a firm fan favourite and soap icon as landlord Mick Carter, but has decided to bid farewell to the character for new ventures.

Anatomy of a Scandal star Hannah Dodd is set to take on the role of Francesca Bridgerton in season three of Netflix’s smash hit period drama Bridgerton.The 26 year old, who recently starred in Hollywood blockbuster Marvel’s Eternals, will take over the role from Ruby Strokes when production restarts later this Summer.The latest casting change hints that we might be seeing a lot more of character Francesca in the upcoming season, albeit with a different look. Ruby parted ways with the popular drama in order to pursue another role as the lead in Netflix’s upcoming show Lockwood & Co, but fans are definitely excited to see what Hannah can bring to the screen as she takes on the role.

Hannah Dodd (Anatomy of a Scandal) is set to play the the elusive Bridgerton sibling in Season 3 of Netflix and Shondaland’s Regency-era period drama series based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels. She is joining the hugely popular series in a recasting, taking over the role from Ruby Stokes who left and is the lead of another Netflix series, the upcoming Lockwood & Co., an adaptation of Jonathan Stroud’s books.

The Guardian found the series “sweet, silly [and] charmingly harmless,” many echoed The Daily Beast, who labeled it “embarrassingly bad.” The series costars Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazer and Jennifer Saunders. Meanwhile the series finale of “Ozark” kept the No. 1 spot globally with 102.1 million minutes viewed, up from last week’s 78.4 million.
