Netflix fans convinced Black Mirror is returning after four years

McKinley Franklin editor Netflix has revealed the official episode titles and plot synopses for Season 6 of its dystopian sci-fi series “Black Mirror.” The series, which is set to debut in June, will feature five new episodes titled “Joan Is Awful,” “Loch Henry,” “Beyond the Sea,” “Mazey Day” and “Demon 79.” Here are Netflix’s plot descriptions and cast for each episode: Joan Is Awful An average woman is stunned to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life — in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek.

Deadline reports that a sequel to the cult comedy starring Vaughn and Ben Stiller is in early development at 20th Century Studios, with Vaughn likely to produce.

Netflix will have invested almost $6BN in UK content over four years by the end of 2023, the streamer has revealed.

K.J. Yossman Keira Knightley is set to star in Netflix series “Black Doves,” the streamer unveiled today. Written by “Giri/Haji” showrunner Joe Barton, the drama will see Knightley star as Helen, a woman with a secret identity who embarks on a passionate affair. When her lover falls victim to London’s shadowy underworld, Helen’s employers send an old friend, Sam, to protect her. The two of them soon embark on a high octane adventure set against a backdrop of diplomatic tension and Christmas. “‘Black Doves’ is the story of two old friends coming back together, finding trust in one another in a world where trust can get you killed and, ultimately, changing the course of each other’s lives forever,” reads the logline.

Aaron Paul, Michael Cera and Salma Hayek Pinault will appear in the sixth season of Black Mirror, Netflix has announced. The new episodes of the dystopian anthology programme will also feature EastEnders' Himesh Patel, Monica Dolan, Rob Delaney and Paapa Essiedu. Netflix announced the return of the programme, created by Charlie Brooker, with a 77-second trailer on Twitter captioned “You’re due an update”.

Season 6 appears to be even more violent than past shows, and the production value is noticeably higher and more cinematic in scope.

Hit TV show Black Mirror may be making its return, as the show's Twitter account has become active again after years of silence. Having not been active on the social media website since 2019, when the show's fifth season dropped on Netflix, the show's Twitter account returned with a simple tweet on Tuesday, reading: "what have we missed?" Show creator Charlie Brooker added to the fan speculation that the show is returning, as he replied with a quizzical emoji, and re-tweeted the account's cryptic message.

Black Mirror season six is happening, and 10 stars have been added to the cast.

Netflix has said it will invest $2.5BN in South Korean series, films and unscripted shows over the next four years.
