Nazanin Boniadi is not returning for the upcoming second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
The highly-anticipated second season of Prime Video’s original series, which still holds the record for the streaming service’s most-watched premiere day, will debut on August 29.
It has been confirmed that Nazanin will not be back as Bronwyn and her character will not be recast. The news was confirmed by THR after fans noticed she was missing from the teaser trailer.

Nazanin recently explained on Instagram why she left the show.
“I stepped away from acting in September 2022, to focus solely on the #WomanLifeFreedom uprising in Iran and to advocate for the people of my homeland who have been risking everything for freedom,” Nazanin said. “Despite my passion for acting, I knew it would take a very special project to convince me to once again split my time between my day job and my calling as an activist. A Mosquito in the Ear is that project.”
Nazanin recently wrapped filming on A Mosquito in the Ear, which also stars Jake Lacy.
