Despite recently announcing their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage, TV stars Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have been spotted still wearing their wedding rings. On Saturday, 25 May, Ruth and Eamonn shared a statement confirming their marriage had come to an end.
A spokesperson told The Sun at the time: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” Ruth was recently seen leaving a hairdressing salon in Weybridge after enjoying a pamper session, and she flashed a small smile as she clutched a large water cup with her left hand - on which her wedding ring could clearly be seen. Meanwhile, on Monday, 27 May, Eamonn was still wearing his own wedding ring as he appeared on GB news and thanked fans for their support amid the news of his and Ruth's split.
Body language expert, Darren Stanton, has delved into the 'real reason' that 'resilient' Eamonn and 'nervous' Ruth are still wearing their rings. Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Darren referred to the recent snap of Ruth as she left the salon, saying: "She’s still got her wedding ring on, a lot of people going through a divorce will keep it on until things are finalised - it’s almost like the last remnants of the relationship.
"I think the smile is more of a masking smile, as we know, the most faked emotion is happiness and joy - which sometimes masks nerves. Meanwhile, Eamonn seems more at ease with having this displayed in the public, he’s more comfortable with it being in the press, whereas Ruth is a more private person, so really, the fact there’s a fake smile there.
