A family is desperately trying to get their mum home to the UK after she was found covered in blood in her Turkish hotel room and rushed to hospital.
Fiona McCusker-Rae had jetted off to the holiday hotspot for a solo break following the death of her mum. But the 52-year-old ended up phoning her kids in a panic following an incident in Antalya.
She had phoned her daughter, saying she was curled up in agony on her hotel room floor and was "covered in blood". Her son, Cody Wood, explained: "She was unable to move and seemed very disoriented."
Cody, 25, then rang his mum who had managed to crawl into bed. He and his sister then both repeatedly called the hotel, but could not reach anyone, leaving his mum shouting and screaming for help.
Manchester Evening News reports that, eventually, he called 999 in the UK and the British Embassy in Turkey, who in turn got the police in Turkey to assist Fiona. He explained: "My sister was on FaceTime to my mum the whole time.
"When the staff got to her she was covered in blood." She was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and admitted to Antalya Life Private Hospital and immediately taken into the Intensive Care Unit.
