Michael Owen reacts to daughter Gemma finishing second on Love Island: 'She's done us proud!'

Michael Owen has shared a sweet post after his daughter Gemma Owen finished in second place on Monday's Love Island 2022 final with her partner Luca Bish. During the latest and final instalment, Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu were crowned the winners with Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri in fourth, and Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack in third.
Taking to social media after the results were announced, proud father Michael reacted to Gemma finishing in second place as he shared a sweet snap and message. Posting a throwback photo, he wrote on Instagram: "What a special girl.
So proud of you, @gemowen_1 Now get home as we’ve all missed you", adding on Twitter: "She’s done us proud." As the winners were announced by Laura Whitmore, who also revealed that the show's prize money "steal" twist had been scrapped, Ekin-Su started screaming as she grabbed Davide for a passionate smooch. During their interview chat with Laura, the duo were left speechless as Ekin-Su started crying as she thanked the host before hugging her fellow finalists.
While Davide said of the win: "I'm shocked, I couldn't believe it, I cannot believe it!" Elsewhere, some eagle-eyed fans noticed Luca looking "fuming" as he came second in the show's finale alongside Gemma.The couple, who have been together for most of this year's series, were beaten to first place and fans soon spotted him appearing less than happy. Fans were quick to point out Luca's reaction, as one quipped: "Luca is going to ask everyone in the country who they voted for.
