Michael McIntyre has won the nation's hearts with his cheeky grin and flawless comedic timing.
The London comedian, 47, is no stranger to fame as he has been entertaining audiences across the UK for 15 years and even earned the title of highest-grossing stand up comedian in the world back in 2012. Recently, he's been entertaining us on Saturday nights with his star-studded show, The Wheel, which is full of laughs for all ages. But what does Michael do when he's not making us giggle? Let's take a peek at his life off stage...
Michael started his career in his twenties, performing at local comedy clubs. His big break came after appearing on Live at the Apollo, which saw his fan base grow almost overnight. He's also been a regular on comedy panel shows like Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of Ten Cats and Would I Lie To You? In 2009, he even got his own show, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow.
Over the years, he's done loads of stand-up and presenting gigs. He was even a judge on Britain's Got Talent in 2011, alongside Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff. Michael has a love story as funny as his jokes.
His wife, Kitty Ward, who prefers to stay out of the limelight, is often the subject of his hilarious anecdotes. In his 2010 book, Life and Laughing, Michael shared: "She was the girl I had been looking for. In the romantic comedy that was my life, this would have made a good ending.
"We would fall happily ever after. Within moments of seeing her and chatting to her I was totally up for that ending. Unfortunately, she wasn’t." Kitty was uninterested in the comedian at first but with much persuasion, Michael was able to woo her.
