Coronation Street's Amy Robbins, who plays Daisy Midgeley's (Charlotte Jordan) estranged mum Christina Boyd, was so excited to join the cast that she cried when she first heard she got the part. Christina made her first appearance on the show last year and is gearing up to strut down those famous cobbles once more. But what might be a surprise to some is that this isn't Amy's first time starring in a soap.
Indeed, she's no stranger to TV as she's been part of several other major shows in the past. What's also interesting is that she comes from a very talented family - and counts a number of celebrities among her relatives. While we're excited to see Christina back on Coronation Street, let's dive into Amy's life off set.
Famous family It seems acting talent runs in her family as Amy's older sister Kate Robbins has featured in many popular TV programmes like Spitting Image and rival soap EastEnders. Her other sister, Jane, was a contestant for the UK in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest, performing in the group Prima Donna. However, Amy's most famous relative needs no introduction - none other than Sir Paul McCartney, since he's their cousin once removed.
Amy's mum's cousin Paul, has always been an amazing support to her family. According to Amy, "He's everything you would hope him to be, genuinely lovely." Speaking about the support from her family, Amy shared: "My family are all really pleased for me. "They know how much this Coronation Street role means to me.
We are never competitive with each other and we are all very close. My dad, Michael, worked in variety all his life and my mum, Elizabeth, sang. "Showbusiness is in our DNA, it's a family business that has lasted generations." Emily Atack Amy isn't just related to
