Manchester has been enjoying some hot and dry weather this week after a much chillier start to the month.
Temperatures have soared to the mid-20s across the region, with some areas of the UK seeing temperatures as high as 30C.
Some areas down south are likely to record a heatwave this week, which is when the temperature exceeds a certain threshold for three days in a row. The threshold varies for each region, but in Manchester it is 25C.

According to the Met Office, Sunday and Monday both saw high temperatures of 24.7C in Manchester. Today temperatures are expected to reach 26C, while tomorrow, maximum temperatures of 28C have been forecast.
However, the Met Office says it's looking like it will cool down again towards the end of the week. Forecasters said a transition to fresher conditions is looking likely through Thursday, with a cold front bringing a band of cloud and showery rain to the east and southeast of the country.
There is also a chance of isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms developing, with fresher conditions expected by Friday. Temperatures are expected to be near or a little below average in the northwest, and near or a little above average in the southeast.
Mark Sidaway, deputy chief meteorologist, said: "Although we are expecting to see some very warm temperatures this week, it may not be the wall-to-wall sunshine and blue skies people are expecting as there is likely to be some cloud around in places.
