Snow has been forecasted to hit parts of the UK this week, according to Met Office weather maps.
It comes after many parts of the UK were hit with unseasonal warm weather where temperatures reached as high as 27C last week. However, conditions are expected to make a dramatic u-turn as snowfall has been predicted for parts of Scotland and the north of England this weekend.
According to weather maps, snow is expected to hit Scotland at 4am on Sunday, October 15 (indicated by white marks on the weather map). Far north parts of England, including Northumberland, are also expected to see snowfall at roughly 2cm per hour.

The current long-range forecast from the Met Office for this Sunday, which is subject to change due to the nature of predicting weather in such a timeframe, states: "After the rain clears in the southeast, the start of the period will bring a day of sunshine and showers for many. Expect the heaviest and most frequent showers in the northwest region, with the possibility of hail and thunderstorms, as well as snow on higher ground.
"On Sunday, expect the heaviest and most frequent showers in the northeast, while the west remains generally drier. Monday will see showers easing, bringing fine and dry conditions for many. As the period progresses, unsettled conditions are most likely. While drier spells are possible, it’s more likely to be wetter than average.
