Five years on since she officially retired from acting, Meghan Markle ’s return to the profession “seems likely” as Netflix urge the Duchess of Sussex to “remain relevant” following their heavy investment, a PR expert has claimed. Director of Media PR Global, Kieran Elsby recently revealed that he believes Meghan will return to continue her acting career, while also weighing in on the strange phenomenon that has seen her iconic show Suits, re-appear in top 10 most streamed show lists, despite no new episodes having aired since 2019.
Speaking to The Mirror, Kieran said: "The potential for Meghan's re-entry into the world of acting looks likely. “Her acting career was overshadowed by her royal status, and her decision to step away from acting marked a significant turning point in her life.
Yet, the appeal of returning to a familiar territory, could be influential." Interestingly, during the same interview he also suggested that the surprising return of Suits to the list may actually be part of a subtle effort to keep Meghan “relevant” after she previously became a household name on the show. "I do wonder if the top spot is genuinely determined by viewership metrics at all,” he pondered.
“Or it is essential for Meghan to remain relevant to Netflix, hence the unaudited top spot. After all they have invested heavily.” So far, Netflix have invested over $100million in Prince Harry and his wife Meghan for a slate of projects which included their groundbreaking six-part documentary series Harry & Meghan, along with a number of other upcoming projects including The Heart of Invictus series.
