Meghan Markle's rise to fame is often attributed to her well-known role as Rachel Zane on cable show Suits. But the Duchess of Sussex' first ever uncredited acting role has resurfaced, and been revealed as the US sitcom Married with Children. It joins the long list of Meghan's unforgotten roles.
Footage of Prince Harry's wife's first-ever acting gig has now resurfaced, almost 30 years after the show came to an end and fans cannot believe it. In a viral screenshot of the episode that aired in 1995, titled The Undergraduate, a young Meghan can be seen in the background of a scene starring Christina Applegate as Kelly Bundy. When Meghan was a little girl, her now-estranged father, Thomas Markle, worked on the iconic 1980s sitcom Married With Children, which starred actor Ed O'Neill.
During a 2019 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Ed spoke about the Markles' connection to the show. He told Ellen: "By the way, she [Meghan] grew up on the set of Married With Children. Did you know that? Her father was a camera operator." Ed continued: "Her father was a camera operator.
And she used to come on the set in her little Catholic school uniform. She was, like, nine." Meghan made her acting debut in the uncredited role in a season nine episode where she played a student.
The episode saw Kelly getting a secret admirer who wanted to take her to his Junior High School prom. Meghan appeared mainly in the background, but she was regularly on set thanks to her father's role in the production team.
He worked on the show for 10 seasons, first as a lighting director before becoming director of photography from the second season to the 10th. Fans on social media were shocked to see Meghan in resurfaced stills from the show. One user reminisced,
