Martin Lewis said certain E.ON customers could save roughly 50 per cent on their energy bills by switching to one particular tariff.
The money-saving expert told his audience on the ITV Money Show that most of the best energy deals currently on the market are exclusively being offered to "existing customers". He also highlighted that due to the current sporadic nature of the market, deals are constantly changing.
He explained that some of the cheapest deals currently available are being offered by E.ON with both variable and fixed rates available. According to the consumer champion, one particular variable rate could be around 50 per cent cheaper for "typical" energy users.

Martin said: "The one tariff I would suggest, this is for E.ON Next customers, this is actually quite a simple deal if you're with E.ON Next. Its Pledge tariff is variable but it says it will be roughly 50 per cent cheaper for a typical user than the price cap - so three per cent cheaper over the next year.
"So whatever the price cap moves to this will move to but it will be cheaper so it's an absolute no-brainer. You may as well be on that and instead of on the price cap because it's the same thing just a little bit cheaper."
However, even if you're not an E.ON Next customer, Martin said that you could switch to their normal tariff and then switch again to the Pledge tariff. Martin also issued advice for those considering a fixed-rate tariff but added a warning based on current price rise predictions.
He added that E.ON is also offering a fixed-rate tariff which is set at three per cent over current
