The 26-year-old actress filmed a scene alongside Lesley Manville, who is portraying Amy‘s maternal grandmother in the film. The cast also features Jack O’Connell as Amy‘s husband Blake Fielder-Civil and Eddie Marsan as Amy‘s father. Sam Taylor-Johnson, who you may recognize as the director of Nowhere Boy (2009), Fifty Shades of Grey (2015), and more, is directing. Sam is also married to actor Aaron Taylor Johnson!
The first look at Marisa as Amy was released last month. Amy tragically passed away at the age of 27 back in 2011. Her cause of death was released a short time later. Our continued condolences to her family and loved ones.

The two-part doc, titled simply “Paula,” will explore the “life and legacy” of the wildchild presenter, whose relationships with Boomtown Rats’ vocalist Bob Geldof and rockstar Michael Hutchence dominated the headlines in the late 1990s. Yates and Geldof’s daughter, model Peaches Geldof, also died of a heroin overdose at the age of 25 in 2014. The doc promises to “reveal the real Paula Yates behind the tabloid-driven narrative, drawing on an extraordinary set of never-before-heard interviews, the words of some of those who knew her best and a wealth of archive to tell her story in her own words.” Yates was a Channel 4 staple during her prime, fronting shows including “The Tube” and “The Big Breakfast” for which she interviewed stars from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Robbie Williams.
