Goalkeeper Tom Heaton admitted that Manchester United are working on playing the ball out from the back following their 2-0 win over Arsenal in New Jersey on Saturday night.
The Reds made the perfect start to their tour of the United States, getting the better of their Premier League rivals thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho. The duo both struck in the space of just seven first-half minutes to seal a third win of pre-season.
Fernandes, who was donning the captain's armband as permanent skipper for the very first time, fired the Reds in front on the half-hour mark. He unleashed an effort from distance after receiving a pass inside from Kobbie Mainoo.
The latter had been picked out by a long, searching ball from Heaton, who had refrained from going short after spotting Mainoo's run in behind the Arsenal defence. Though he went long on that occasion, the goalkeeper, who played the full 90 minutes, confirmed that United are working on a new approach when it comes to their build-up play.

Heaton told MUTV: "In fairness, Bruno shouted me to go long about five seconds before, so he is trying to take some credit for it.
"The way we play, we are trying to drag teams out, we want to be comfortable at the back with it, everyone's adapting to it, it is really enjoyable, and then if they don't come out, you look in behind and go one for one at the back.
"We have got the legs to do it. Kobbie, from midfield, making that run, that makes a massive difference to have targets to go and hit.
