Manchester United duo Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellistri have been named in the Uruguay squad for their upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Chile.
Uruguay, who are currently fourth in the South American Football Confederation ( CONMEBOL) table, will be looking to complete the job and reach the World Cup in Qatar later this month. The top-four teams automatically qualify for the finals, whilst the team that finishes fifth in the table will enter the inter-confederation play-offs.
Cavani, who has been capped by Uruguay more than 125 times, scoring 54 goals, has been included in the squad despite missing large portions of action in the last few months. He returned to the side against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, stepping off the substitutes bench, before doing the same against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening.

He has already been linked with several big-name Spanish clubs. Barcelona and Sevilla have been name-checked as just two of them.
Pellistri, meanwhile, is currently applying his trade in Spain, playing for Alaves. The youngster, who joined United in October from Club Atletico Penarol, has made 20 appearances for the La Liga club this term.
However, he has struggled to nail down a regular spot for the Spanish club, starting just six times in all competitions. He has also failed to complete a single 90-minute game.
Nevertheless, he has been included in the 26-man
