Manchester United are reportedly 'determined' to win the race against Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign Boca Juniors star Aaron Anselmino ahead of this summer's transfer window.
The 19-year-old could be seen as the perfect replacement to the outgoing Raphael Varane, who confirmed he'd be leaving Old Trafford after a four-year stint following this weekend's FA Cup final. Jonny Evans is also yet to renew his contract with United as a summer exit looks increasingly likely for the 36-year-old.
Lisandro Martinez spent much of the season out injured, while Harry Maguire's recent issues to end the season have heightened the apparent need of more depth in the centre-back position even more. All of that has meant Anselmino has reportedly been added to the club's radar, with United believed to have been scouting the youngster for months.

Anselmino reportedly has a £21m release clause in his contract, according to Argentinian outlet Planeta Boca, and with United set to begin prioritising their ageing defensive unit this summer, the centre-back could be a real gem.
The youngster has mainly been on the bench for the Liga Profesional side this season, but did score his side's only goal in their 1-0 win over Trinidense in the Copa Sudamericana last month, giving a good indication as to the impact he could give United immediately.
Elsewhere, Man United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign young Rennes forward Désiré Doué, with talks already underway to bring the 18-year-old to Old Trafford in the summer.
