Writing on Instagram on Wednesday, the 20-year-old said: "A huge thanks to the amazing staff for their support and guidance, and to the passionate fans for making my time at St Andrew's unforgettable. I've made some fantastic memories and friends here in Birmingham, and I am proud to have worn the Blues jersey."
Seemingly indicating that a return to Birmingham may not be on the cards, he added: "As I move on to the next chapter of my career, I'll always cherish my time here and the relationships I've built.
"I wish the club, my team-mates, and all the fans the very best for the future," before concluding: "Let's keep pushing forward and making Birmingham FC proud!”
Hannibal had previously been coy about his future, leaving the door open for a return. He said: "First, the Championship is very hard, so I'm going to have a good holiday.
