The driver of the car stopped and a passer-by called the emergency services. The police and ambulance arrived at the scene and Khaled, who was said to covered in blood and in agony, was taken to hospital where he remained for the next eight days.
He suffered a fractured nose which required immediate surgery and he also fractured his left elbow, which required further surgery when he arrived back home in the UK, said his lawyers. Khaled also suffered a number of wounds to his face which required stitches and was covered in bruises to his legs, knees and back.
Once he was deemed fit enough, he was able to fly back home to Manchester. He said: "This has been a very difficult three years whilst I have recovered from the effects of my accident."
While in Ibiza, he contacted Cheadle-based no-win no-fee firm Holiday Claims Bureau to act on his behalf and his case was led by the company's head of travel litigation, Michael Walker, a partner at the firm.
