Trafford made a January transfer window switch to Ian Evatt's Wanderers and went on to become the club's first choice goalkeeper in a positive second half of the season for both player and loan club.
The stopper made 22 appearances and kept seven clean sheets, including ones in his first four apperearances for the club, and even chipped in with two assists in his time there.
The goalkeeper has another year left to go on his contract at City and has made it clear that in the 2022/23 campaign, he wishes to be either fighting Ederson for the number one jersey or on the bench, with no desire to play under-23s football at the Etihad Stadium.
Wanderers would like to have the goalkeeper back next season at the University of Bolton Stadium after a successful second half of this campaign, as Bolton finished ninth in League One, having been promoted to the division last campaign.
