Manchester City Council is looking for a full-time site manager to take care of a private residential development near St John's Gardens, a stone's throw from Deansgate.
The Porchfield Square site manager will liaise with visiting contractors and monitor their work, as well as maintain the gardens and carry out basic maintenance and repairs. As the successful applicant will need to live on the site full time, they will also be provided with a newly refurbished, rent-free apartment.

According to the job listing, the role requires a high degree of confidence and self-motivation as it is largely unsupervised. The site manager is the first point of contact for residents so they will also need very good interpersonal skills. A positive, helpful and diplomatic attitude is essential.
Applicants will need experience and knowledge of garden maintenance and basic property maintenance is required. Due to the nature of the post, there will be a requirement to work a degree of flexible hours.
The post holder will be part of the council's development team within the growth and development directorate. The team is responsible for the management of non-operational property assets, which includes the St John's Gardens development.
