Manchester Airport passengers' fury as they're hit with 'mile-long' TUI check-in queues

Holidaymakers have described queues for TUI check-in at Manchester Airport this morning as 'shambolic.' Shocking pictures show passengers in what have been described as 'mile-long' queues at Terminal Two.
The queues appear to stretch far beyond the terminal, with some people stuck on the Trav-O-Lator machines heading towards the bus and trains station. One person said they'd waited two hours and still hadn't got to check-in.
One woman reported the chaos was due to a broken luggage belt at the travel company's check-in desk, which was causing a huge back-log. Others described seeing nobody available at the bag drop desks. TUI have been approached for comment on these claims.

Elsewhere in the airport, the queues for security which have been reported in recent days and weeks continue to persist. But it appears the worst of today's (April 14) disruption is centred around TUI desks.
It comes ahead of what is expected to be one of the busiest weekends for travel since before the pandemic, as thousands of families prepare to jet off for the Easter break.
One holidaymaker told the Manchester Evening News she paid for premium check-in after being warned about airport queues. She said when she arrived at the TUI check-in desk she was informed the luggage belt to take bags on to the plane was broken.
"At Manchester T2 and the luggage belt is broken @TUIUK. Paid for premium. You couldn't make this up," she said on Twitter. Dozens of other passengers also took to the social media site to complain of the queues.
"Manchester Airport TUI is worst queues (2hrs) out of whole place. Wish I'd done Jet2 who had no queues at all," one holidaymaker said.
