A man on trial for drug dealing tried to bribe a juror to find him not guilty. Daniel Perry, 38, was accused of supplying class A drugs and offered a young woman money to spray paint her car if she found him innocent.
Perry, who was part of a larger drug business and dealt cocaine in Redcar, Teeside, is now serving ten-and-a-half years for the conspiracy. His friend Craig Osbourne, 31, was seen talking to Perry outside Teesside Crown Court. Osbourne knew one of the jurors, Jade Bainbridge, through her ex-boyfriend and gave her number to Perry, TeesideLive reports.
Even though jurors are not allowed to talk about the trial, Bainbridge told Perry and Osbourne that the jury were planning to find Perry guilty. Osbourne then offered her money to "spray paint her car" if she could convince the other jurors to find Perry not guilty.

Bainbridge, who was pregnant, was removed from the jury. The court heard that Osbourne then got his brother to call the court and report that a female juror had been discussing the verdict with his girlfriend. This caused the trial to be stopped while the police investigated.
Police found CCTV footage showing Perry's Range Rover following the female juror's car five times as she drove home from court. The female juror was separated from the others and questioned by the judge, but, after the girlfriend was brought before the judge, she confirmed that there had been no phone call from any female juror. After a two-day break, the trial continued when it was found that the report was untrue, and Perry was jailed.
In a statement, the innocent juror said she had been frightened for her family's safety; and she was scared
