A man in his 80s was taken to hospital on Wednesday morning (September 7) after being cut from a car that flipped over in the middle of the street in Irlam. A large cordon was erected on Chapel Road, near the junction with Liverpool Road and Ferryhill Road.
The crash happened outside the Chapel Group Medical Centre shortly before midday on Wednesday. Emergency services, including paramedics and the fire service, closed off the road as enquiries were carried out at the scene.
The North West Ambulance service confirmed a man in his 80s was conveyed to hospital after the crash. They added that his injuries are non serious.

Pictures from the scene show the silver Hyundai flipped on its side in the middle of the road, shortly after 11am. The road was cordoned off for a short while as the scene was made safe and the man was conveyed to hospital.
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 11am on Wednesday 7 September, firefighters were called out to a road traffic collision on Chapel Road, Irlam.
“Two fire engines, from Salford and Irlam Fire Stations, attended the scene – with a Technical Rescue Unit and from Leigh - where a car had rolled over onto its roof. Firefighters used cutting gear to free one male casualty from the vehicle and he was then taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Fire crews were at the scene for approximately one hour."
