A man has been found guilty of fly tipping after dumping more than 25 sacks of domestic rubbish in a street next to a litter bin.
Anthony Brissett was fined £720 after Trafford Council officers discovered 16 bags of refuse on Talbot Road, Stretford, on March 11, 2019. They began investigating who had left them when more bags were dumped there – followed by a further five more sacks left overnight on April, 28.
The CCTV control room identified that the sacks had all been left by the same person. Officers from the Environmental Improvement team also went through the rubbish and identified Brissett, who lived nearby, as the main suspect.

The 52-year-old was summonsed to attend Manchester Magistrates on several occasions and failed to turn up. This prompted Greater Manchester Police to arrest him for failing to comply with bail conditions. The council continued its pursuit of Brissett and he attended Stockport Magistrates on Tuesday, October 11.
Following a trial, Brissett of Byron Road, Stretford, was found guilty and fined £720 with a £72 victim surcharge and ordered to pay £300 costs to the Council.
Councillor Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Environmental Services, said: “Street bins are not there for people to dump their domestic waste. They are there to make sure our streets are clean and tidy for our residents to enjoy.
“If you have lots of rubbish at home, take it to a waste disposal site. But if you choose to dump it in the street, we will go after you and you will be left heavily out of pocket."
