Farid Alfa-Ruprecht has expressed his delight at signing his first professional contract at Manchester City.
Alfa-Ruprecht played 21 times for City's under-18 side as they won the Under-18 Premier League for the fourth year in succession, while he also played for the under-19s in the UEFA Youth League. He ended the season with three goals and three assists having signed last summer from Hamburg.
Now, the 17-year-old has been rewarded with a professional contract after a promising first season in Manchester, and he will hope for more opportunities as other forwards take a step up to the Elite Development Squad next term.
Comfortable across the attacking midfield positions, Alfa-Ruprecht took to Instagram to vow to continue working hard after sealing his contract.

"The day I couldn’t even dream of," he wrote alongside pictures of him signing a contract and holding up a City shirt. "So grateful for the opportunity Allah has given me to sign my first professional contract at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Thank you to all the people around me, who guided me, especially to my family and closest friends. Without you this wouldn’t be possible. We continue THE HARD WORK!"
While there was no confirmation of the length of Alfa-Ruprecht's contract, the German under-17 international added the hashtag '#2028' offering a hint at how long his deal will last.
Among the comments were teammates praising his deal, including Oscar Bobb, Tom Galvez, Nico O'Reilly, Jaden Heskey and Max Alleyne.
