Since hanging up his boots with Santos in 2016, Elano has taken on a number of coaching roles, most recently as manager of Brazilian club Ferroviaria until June 2023. A recent social media post shows the now-42-year-old with a beard and glasses, while having also retained his curly locks.
He is currently preparing for a fundraising match, which will feature legends Cafu and Ronaldinho, while also leading other charity events. Earlier this month, Elano caught up with several of his old Brazil teammates, including former AC Milan star Kaka and Arsenal cult hero Julio Baptista.
City may have won a record-breaking fourth consecutive league title but Elano, who earned 50 caps for Brazil, was arguably the first star man to help redefine the club. The midfielder recorded nine goal contributions in his first 10 league games, including a stunning free-kick against Newcastle United.
