Mason Greenwood has reportedly been given the go-ahead to sign for Juventus - five years on from their first "life-changing" attempt to buy him from Manchester United.

He hasn't played for United since his arrest in January 2022 on charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
Those were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service 13 months later, allowing Greenwood to return to professional football in Spain. His performances there, with 10 goals and six assists across 36 games in all competitions, attracted significant transfer attention from around Europe.

United appear set to maintain their stance this summer and allow the forward to leave permanently. According to Sky Sport in Italy, Juventus are leading the race to sign him.
Greenwood's representatives are said to have indicated the club are his preferred choice in the transfer window, giving the Italian giants the green light to make an approach. Personal terms are believed to have already been agreed upon.
