After such a slow start to the transfer window, surely the deals will go from a trickle to a flood once Euro 2024 is over. And when the activity does pick up, Manchester City will need to be on the right side of each transfer they are involved in.
Whether that is selling an existing player - potentially the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva or Ederson - or strengthening the side who have won the last four Premier League titles, City will be looking to get the best value from every transaction.
It could be that City go into the new campaign without making any major additions, particularly if it's a quiet summer when it comes to players leaving. It's also worth remembering that chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak hinted at a transfer window with less spending due to Premier League rules.

That doesn't mean there won't be any signings, however. Savio is yet to be completed, and there will always be room for late additions as clubs make last-minute decisions over their squads going into the new campaign. The Blues will be two games into their Premier League title defence by the time the transfer window closes.
Last year, as Cole Palmer sealed a late departure, City made August moves for winger Jeremy Doku and midfielder Matheus Nunes. However, those two cost north of £100m between them, so maybe a look back to 2022 shows better value that can be found in the market as the transfer deadline approaches.
