Mallorca Lee's Ultra Sonic tune hits number 1 on iTunes chart after devastating terminal cancer diagnosis

Fans of Scots DJ Mallorca Lee were left devastated yesterday as he announced that he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and, to honour him, they have launched an online campaign to get him to number one on the iTunes chart.
On Facebook on Monday, the 51-year-old made a statement saying he has been given a matter of months to live after the heartbreaking diagnosis.
The post read: "I've been diagnosed with terminal cancer, the doctor said it could be a matter of months. I apologise for not telling all of my family and friends individually, it just breaks my heart a thousand times and I don’t have the strength to go through it all over and over again."
He added: "I love you all, the last 10 years have been the best of them all, it really has been wonderful. Forgive me if I don’t answer your calls and messages, I’m still processing, even this post feels like someone else is writing it….
"Love, that’s all we ever really have, our one true currency, so tell the ones around you what they mean to you, every day. LOVE LOVE LOVE Mall."
The star is best known for fronting the 90s dance group Ultra Sonic.
Since the news many friends and fans flocked to the comments to send their love.
However amongst the supportive messages some fans urged others to help get Lee's music climb the charts after it reentered the iTunes charts with tune "Obsession".
One fan penned: " Can we help Mallorca Lee reach Number 1 We're nearly there guys in only a few hours incredible effort from everyone. The big man is sitting at number 19 on iTunes get In what a buzz. One last push #ultrasonic #obsession Mallorca Lee 1994 gang."
While another said: "What a track though. 1 of the best."
Another added: "Keep fighting @MallorcaLee, we're all behind you.
